Backus Foodtec

Backus Foodtec (The Netherlands) will be completely integrated in Dofra BV (The Netherlands). Dofra BV already owned 50% of Backus Foodtec and has now increased her ownership to 100%.

Both Peter Backus and Stef Backus, the founders of Backus Foodtec, will leave the company to pursue other ambitions. Dofra Backus Foodtec will be led by Dr. Frank Verschuren and Ing. John de Groot who has been CEO of Backus Foodtec since January 1, 2008.

Dofra BV is a company that develops and produces agro- and food machinery since 1959 and employs over 50 employees.

With the integration the management aims to achieve higher added value to their customers. The integration will result in an increased product development, a larger staff for technical services, a more expanded world wide dealer network, shorter machine delivery time and the use of the Dofra Foodlab for R&D and demonstrations.

The new company will focus on a higher market presence in the USA in 2009 via a competitive pricing strategy and a larger network of local dealers and service points.
